Title: Senior Java Developer
Responsibilities

• Lead Earthmine's backend softare team in building systems to control and manage building and deploying Earthmine's massive datasets and Java web services to supply that data to the Earthmine Flash application as well as external web service developers.
• Write and maintain documentation of internal and external system APIs as well as internal architecture and deployment procedures.
• Devise, maintain, and manage project plans for the Earthmine development team.
• Help set technical strategy for the organization as the product and company mature.

• 3-5 years of professional software development experience in Java.
• Experience (or desire to gain it quickly) with utility computing services, such as those from Amazon.com (EC2/S3).
• Familiarity with concepts and approaches in building Java backend services which communicate with clients using either XML or JSON over HTTP.
• Solid understanding of the issues around building and deploying server-side software systems across multiple environments (test, staging, production).
• Demonstrated familiarity and proficiency with the following java packages: java.lang ,java.util, java.util.concurrent, java.io,java.nio, javax.servlet.http, org.w3c.dom, java.sql,javax.sql
• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or in another natural or mathematical science.
